Northland Preparatory Academy celebrated Solar Week with members from the Coconino Astronomical Society and the Coconino Amateur Radio Club. There were six telescopes outfitted with solar filters, one spectroscope and myriad sun-viewing glasses. Kaci Heins's 6th grade class built solar ovens, and tested their efficiency in making s’mores. Watch out for small solar cars racing later in the week!
What do both businesses and schools need? Actively engaged and productive employees/students of course! Senestech Marketing Director Ali Applin is coordinating SenesTech's participation in the Scientists in the Classroom program at Sinagua Middle School for the second year. She meets monthly with educator Jenna Samora‘s class and brings in different people and aspects of life at an up-and-coming bioscience company.
