Community STEM Events
The Flagstaff Festival of Science celebrated its 26th Anniversary in September 2018. The Festival serves to connect and inspire the citizens of Northern Arizona, particularly youth, with the wonders of science and the joy of scientific discovery.
SCI FRI EDU - a "Happy Hour" for STEM Educators - Hosted by STEM City and local STEM organizations the monthly events provide an opportunity for educators to enjoy food and drinks while building knowledge, exchanging ideas and making connections within their community. In partnership with Flagstaff STEM businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The Flagstaff "STEMMY" Awards - STEM Award Night is held annually and awards the STEM Teacher, Student, and Community Leader of the Year.
The Annual Flagstaff Community STEM Celebration - a special night that brings +65 STEM organizations and +4,000 members of the community to the Northern Arizona University Sky Dome for a night of hands-on STEM experiences. In partnership with the Flagstaff Unified School District, NAU and funders. This is a free event located at the NAU Sky Dome.

Full STEAM Ahead-An in class STEAM mentoring program that brings an outside STEM expert into individual middle school classrooms each month. Teachers and the mentor work together to create experimental STEAM learning activities.
iCreate Bioscience Program -A three-year National Science Foundation funded project, ending in 2019, that tests a model of community engagement in STEM learning through the design and implementation of a high school level career and technical education (CTE) bioscience course.
Pathways to Engineering -A previous three year National Science Foundation funded project that aimed to accelerate delivery of key STEM Pathway programs and activities through collaborations among eight rural Arizona community colleges including Coconino Community College to prepare more students with STEM certifications and degrees supporting workforce needs.
